Discovery Log 06
Unknown Cafe
This week’s discovery was probably one of the most spontaneous ones I’ve had recently.
I remember I was riding my bike a couple of days ago, following the usual way subconsciously and looking around. All of a sudden, as I was already passing, I saw an incredibly interesting place that looked like an interior design company showroom/gallery. After my gaze reached the sign high above the clean tall windows, I realized it was a coffee shop.
It was absolutely impossible to tell it was a cafe. The interior was so deliberately designed one could not be able to grasp the whole picture. Even from a distance and with a significant speed, my eyes could move quickly from object to object, compiling information about various shapes, colors, textures.
At the very end I saw a small group of people who werw having a conversation. A very pretty, artistically dressed woman was sitting on a couch. Two elegant and slightly skinny men were standing in front of her, one of which was leaning on what looked to me like a bright red fireplace.
Then I passed by. I was stunned by the atmosphere of the space, which was created in my mind only by visual perception. I could feel the warmth in it, I could smell the air freshener, hear the quiet talk of the people, feel the soft and smooth feeling of the objects. I know I should have stopped and went back, get in and may be get a cup of expensive tea. Instead I just kept thinking about it in my head, trying to put up the whole picture together and subconsciously following my way.
I kept thinking about it until I forgot its name and the block it was on. Now I have to find where it was located and its name. If anybody knows what I’m talking about let me know.
